I not sure if everyone heard, but Susi and I had a bit of a tumble off the motorbike just before Christmas, 2016 when a car didn't see us and turned in front of us. Luckily Susi only got some sore ribs.
Austin unfortunately needed major shoulder reconstruction surgery, meaning we couldn't go over to the boat this year.
It wasn't all bad news, the upside is that we are able to stay in Australia for our winter.
Winter in the northern tropics of Australia is the dry season and ideal for travelling through the outback. So at the beginning of July 2017, Susi and I packed up the caravan and started a 3 to 4 month trek through some of the most remote parts of Australia, something we have wanted to do for years.
So in 2017, after swapping our Pop-up Trailer against a new caravan, we did the loop up to Cape York and down through the red centre of Australia.
It took us 16 weeks to travel 18,021kms and we used a total of 2,860 litres of diesel.
